After extensive reasearch over the past two years, we have selected Joao Pessoa
as the best city for foreingers to live and invest in Brazil.
Our deciding factors were:
-
Climate
, having an avearge temperatures of 28 degress celcius all year round with 300 sunshine
days per year give Joao Pessoa all year summer. A constant breeze from the Atlantic
is pleasantly refreshing on those extra hot days.
-
Security
, most of the crime in Brazil is centered around the favelas in the biggest cities.
Joao Pessoa has a modest population around 1,000,000 for the municple area and is
one of the safest places to live in Brazil, even safer than Natal.
-
Investment
, current real estate growth in Joao Pessoa is around 20-30% PA, although if you
can pick an up and coming area you can expect up to 50-60% PA. Joao Pessoa is still
a little unknow compared with neighbouring Natal which has seen significant growth,
so there are still some bargains to be found although the prices are increasing
rapidly.
-
Lifestyle
, in Joao Pessoa things are laid back, there is no rat race that you find in the
big cities, life is slower paced and the people even talk slower (which helps learning
portugues!). There are plenty of things to do there, such as water sports, brazilan
dancing, and voted the greenest city in the world means you can always find a park
near by.
